Bush Middle School Volleyball 2026

Season: Feb 23 - April 2

Volleyball registration open 2/6 – 17 and clearances are all done online via Final Forms 
Athletes will need to be cleared & attend all initial 7 practices to be eligible for the first match.

First practice: 2/23
First match: around 3/9
Season end: 4/2

First Week Of Practice:

  • February 23rd - 26th: Tryouts (2:30-4:30)
  • February 27th- 7am - 7:30am 

ASB Clearance

  • You must be cleared through the ASB with a current physical before practices begin to be able to participate

Parent Meeting

  • Tuesday, March 3rd at 4:35 in the Big Gym

Spirit Wear

  • Optional Spirit Gear will be open Feb 23 - 26. Must make orders by Feb 26.  The link will also be on final forms. We won’t know uniform numbers by this time.

Practice information 

  • Need 7 practices (cleared) to be eligible for first game 
  • Practice times are 2:30-4:30 and students will need to be picked up by 4:45 at the latest (please help us be able to go home to our families 😀)
  • Friday practice
    • Typically, we will not have Friday practices, but if needed we will announce it as soon in the week as we can   
  • Set up- 2:30-2:45 
    • done by EVERY player before a ball can be touched
    • All three nets up, ball carts out, basketball hoops up 
    • When all the above is done, you may start to warm up with a ball and partner (10 foot line-end line)
  • Practice Attire- t-shirt, shorts/spandex/leggings, knee pads, court shoes (does not need to be volleyball shoes)
  • NO PHONES or AIRPODS will be allowed at practice or games 
  • Absences- You must contact a coach ahead of time if you will be missing, late or leaving early from any practices (unexcused absence from practice will result in less or zero playing time in the next match) 

Games

  • Uniforms- Jerseys will be provided to wear and return at end of season, players will need to purchase their own black spandex or shorts to wear for games
  • Away game days-
    • TSD Transportation department provides school busses to our away games that are outside of Thurston County. Families will need to secure transportation to & from matches located at Tumwater Middle School, Rochester Middle School, and Tenino Middle School.
    • We will ride to all matches as a team.  If you will be riding with parents home, you will need to have completed a TRAVEL RELEASE form and turned it into the front office by 1pm to be processed.
    • Pack snacks and a water bottle
    • Be amazing on the bus.  Clean up after yourselves and be respectful of bus rules
    • You will need to get dressed in your uniform before bus departs, right after school
    • Parents will need to be in contact with their player on return time to BMS and be there as we return, to avoid long waits in the evening.  
  • Home game days- 
    • All players will stay at school on home game days.  There will be a designated place that coaches will have their players, as there will most likely be practice from another team in the gym.  No wandering halls. 
    • There will need to be at least 4 players from the team playing first to stay and do the lines for the next game.  Coaches will create a schedule.  

Locker room-

  • Change and get out quickly
  • CLEAN UP ANY MESSES!
