About Mrs Chevy
I love to eat! I enjoy a wide variety of ethnic cuisine. And music, too – I love all kinds of music (as long as it doesn’t scream...). I have been a musician since I was 5 years old, and dabble in playing as wide a variety of music as I enjoy listening to.
Summer gardening and playing on our "farm" are some of my favorite activities. Besides being an avid Mariner fan, I don’t watch much TV; I prefer to spend leisure time reading. A couple of my favorite books are The Life of Pi by Yann Martel, and Echoes in the Silence by Ian MacKenzie. I believe that traveling is one of the most powerful and relevant ways to strengthen one’s deep understanding of the world, and I have plans to visit many places in- and out-of the United States.
TESC was the perfect undergraduate program for me, and I obtained my Masters in Arts with Teaching Certification at PLU in 2005. In 2009 I earned my National Board Certification in Early Adolescent English Language Arts. I have been teaching at Bush Middle School since 2005; the students and community of Tumwater keep drawing me back.
